Welcome to Malahide Allotments
MALAHIDE ALLOTMENT PROJECT
Malahide Allotments was founded in 2012 as a community based project run by the Epilepsy Care Foundation. The aim of the project is provide respite for people with epilepsy and to raise awareness amongst the general public about Epilepsy. It is a community based project located on the Malahide to Swords Road.
There are 300 allotments in total, 250 will be let to the general public and the remaining 50 are used to provide training in life and behavioural skills to people with Epilepsy and associated Neurological disorders. The project is the first of its’ kind in Ireland in that it is community based providing opportunities for respite and education for epilepsy sufferers and members of the general public. The project has grown from a green field site to the success it is today, achieving many awards in the four years since it began. This could not have been achieved without the hard work of our volunteers and the support it has achieved from the public. We are very proud of what has been achieved todate and our thanks go to everybody who has helped us.
The Malahide Allotments moto is ‘You Can Dig It’ so whether you are already a keen gardener, recently retired and looking to get stuck into something or simply have a family whom wish to spend some quality time outdoors then getting a plot is a great way in which you can stay healthy, save a fortune and have some fun!
